This is the Mortgage taken out on our house and three others in 1894, just a short 112 years ago. At about 200 UK pounds a house, that’s quite a bargin.In some ways I’m happy to say the value has gone up a bit since then.

Pick an honest lender, then shop the rate, if it goes lower ask the lender to lower their rates. I’d advise staying away from brokers, stick with major lenders like your banks, Countrywide, Quicken Loans, DiTech…etc. Get 3 quotes and go with one. Rates are low but starting to rise.

If you have FHA I’ve found that Chase offers the best rates and you can do a streamline refi and not pay closing costs.
